Physical Exercise Interventions in Patients Undergoing Allogeneic Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

چکیده
Allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) patients experience several problems, such as physical, psychological, and psychosocial side effects, during the transplantation phase. Physical exercise has recently been proposed as a method that assists HSCT patients in their recovery from the decline in physical fitness, worsening of psychological status, and impaired quality of life. The number of studies describing the promising role of physical exercise programs as nonpharmacologic adjuvant therapy for patients with cancer has increased. In this review, we describe the effects of physical exercise on the psychological well-being as well as distress, fatigue, physical functioning, and other outcomes in allo-HSCT patients. Thus, we believe that physical exercise therapy may be helpful and advantageous for patients undergoing allo-HSCT.

Circulating endothelial precursor cells (EPC) in patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation.
We have studied the number of endothelial precursor cells in eighteen patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Endothelial precursor cells were evaluated by colony-forming assay and compared to healthy controls. Patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation had significantly lower numbers of endothelial precursor cells before the procedu...
متن کاملEffects of nonpharmacological interventions on reducing fatigue after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Fatigue is one of the main complaints of patients undergoing allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Since nonpharmacological interventions are cost-effective and causes fewer complications, this study aimed to review the studies performed on the effects of nonpharmacological interventions on fatigue in patients undergoing HSCT during September 2016. MEDLINE, C...
متن کاملFactors associated with changes in quality of life in patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
It is well known that patients undergoing allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) experience changes in quality of life. We investigated factors associated with quality of life changes in adult HSCT patients. The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - Bone Marrow Transplantation (FACT-BMT) scale, supplemented with the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy - Spir...
متن کاملتأثیر GVHD مزمن بر بقا بیماران لوسمی میلوئیدی حاد پس از پیوند سلولهای بنیادی خون محیطی از خواهر یا برادر با HLA مشابه بدون تخلیه سلول T
Background : Graft versus host disease (GVHD) is among major complications of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation, and also is an important factor affecting the outcome of transplantation. An increased incidence of GVHD has been suggested following allogeneic peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) transplantation, however, how this affects survival is not yet well clear. In this stu...
